HCMC – Tolls on the Trung Luong–My Thuan expressway will increase from November 1, ranging from VND2,091 to VND6,382 per kilometer, according to a decision by the Dong Thap Province People’s Committee.
The new rates apply to five categories of vehicles, excluding value-added tax. Cars with fewer than 12 seats and trucks under two tons will pay the lowest rate, while heavy trucks and 40-foot container trucks will pay the highest.
This is the first toll adjustment since the 51-kilometer expressway began operation in April 2022. The change follows the build–operate–transfer (BOT) contract requiring toll reviews every three years to ensure a payback period of no more than 15 years.
The Trung Luong–My Thuan Expressway connects the Than Cuu Nghia intersection in Dong Thap Province with An Thai Trung intersection in Dong Thap Province. The VND12-trillion project has four lanes with a design speed of 90 kilometers per hour.
Between 2024 and 2028, the HCMC–Trung Luong–My Thuan expressway network will be upgraded under a public–private partnership (PPP) model worth around VND39.8 trillion. The Trung Luong–My Thuan section will be expanded to six lanes, with new rest areas, lighting, and technical facilities.
