HCMC – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has assigned the National Industry and Energy Group (Petrovietnam) to work with Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical LLC and its investors to finalize a plan for Phase 2 of the refinery’s expansion, with a report due in December.
The expansion is considered a key step to increase the scale and capacity of the Nghi Son Economic Zone in Thanh Hoa Province.
The prime minister also instructed the Ministry of Construction to review the dredging project for the shipping channel leading to Nghi Son Port. The ministry must hand over the project to Thanh Hoa Province or another authorized agency this year and report results by December 31.
In addition, Thanh Hoa authorities were told to complete investment preparation documents for a road linking the Ho Chi Minh Highway within the province before December 1.
