The Lotte Scholarship Foundation awarded scholarships to 50 university students in HCMC on November 19, marking the 25th edition of the annual Shin Kyuk-ho Global Scholarship Awards.
Each recipient received a grant of US$450. The foundation, part of South Korea’s Lotte Group, selected students from five universities based on academic performance and personal merit. The event was held at the Lotte Legend Hotel Saigon.
The ceremony was attended by Lotte Scholarship Foundation Chairperson Haesun Chang, senior executives from Lotte companies, representatives from the Korean Embassy, officials from Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training, university leaders and students.
In her address, Chang praised the intellect and diligence of Vietnamese students, saying Vietnam holds “a special place” for the foundation. She encouraged students to “dream without limits” and pursue global opportunities, expressing hope that scholarship recipients might one day join Lotte Group companies.
Chang also acknowledged the support of the Lotte Legend Hotel Saigon team and its General Manager, Suh Dong Soo, for hosting the ceremony.
The Lotte Scholarship Foundation has supported thousands of students across Asia over the past 25 years, contributing to the group’s broader efforts to foster talent and promote international exchange.
