HCMC — The Hochiminh Stock Exchange (HOSE) will list shares of VPB Securities Corporation on December 11 under the ticker VPX, the exchange said on December 4.
HOSE said 1.875 billion shares will debut with a reference price of VND33,900 each and a trading band of 20% on the first trading day. The reference price gives the brokerage a market value of about VND64 trillion.
VPX completed its initial public offering on November 12, issuing 375 million shares at the same price. The sale raised its charter capital from VND15 trillion to VND18.75 trillion and lifted its equity to nearly VND33 trillion, excluding fourth-quarter retained earnings.
The brokerage posted a pre-tax profit of VND3.26 trillion in the first nine months of 2025, almost four times the year-earlier period. Total assets exceeded VND62.1 trillion at the end of September.
Its margin lending stood at nearly VND27 trillion, placing the company among the top three securities firms. Following the IPO, its total margin lending capacity rose to more than VND66 trillion, with around VND40 trillion remaining available.
Vietnam’s benchmark VN-Index inched up at the close today, December 5, despite a broad decline across the market, supported mainly by gains in Vingroup-related stocks.
The VN-Index rose 4.08 points, or 0.23%, to 1,741.32. The HOSE exchange recorded 101 gainers and 211 decliners. Trading volume fell 26% from the previous session to more than 658 million shares, while value dropped 24% to VND20.05 trillion. Block deals accounted for 28.7 million shares worth VND930.3 billion.
For the week, the index gained 50.33 points, or 2.98%.
VIC hit the upper limit at VND142,800 on its ex-rights trading day for a 1:1 bonus share issue, with more than seven million shares matched. The stock contributed more than nine points to the VN-Index. Other large caps were muted, with only VJC and VHM posting small increases. VNM, SSB, and HDB closed flat.
Selling pressure intensified among several major stocks. SHB dropped more than 3% to VND16,750 and led the market in liquidity with 58.1 million shares traded. TCB, STB, DGC, MSN, ACB, and LPB lost between 2% and nearly 3%, weighing on the index.
Mid- and small-cap stocks showed limited movement. HII, SMC, VPS, HHP, and HID closed at their ceiling prices, while QCG, EVG, GEE, VRC, TAL, and ABS gained between 3% and more than 6%.
On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index slipped 1.66 points, or 0.63%, to 260.65. The northern bourse saw 62 winners and 90 losers, with 64.4 million shares traded for a total value of VND1.23 trillion.
