HCMC – The National Assembly Standing Committee on January 12 approved two resolutions related to the organization and personnel structure of the Supreme People’s Procuracy at its 53rd session, the first meeting of 2026.
The half-day session was held at the National Assembly House and chaired by National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, reported the Vietnam News Agency.
The Standing Committee unanimously adopted a resolution regulating the issuance and use of uniforms, insignia and identification for leaders of people’s procuracies at all levels, as well as procurators, inspectors and investigators. It also passed a resolution setting the number and rank structure of procurators in the People’s Procuracy and the Military Procuracy.
The session also reviewed the National Assembly’s public petitions report for December 2025.
Chairman Tran Thanh Man said the Standing Committee may hold its 54th session before the Lunar New Year, while the 55th and 56th sessions are tentatively scheduled for March and April.
He asked National Assembly agencies, particularly the Party Committee of the National Assembly, to accelerate preparations for the 14th National Party Congress. Assigned members of the Standing Committee and deputy chairpersons were tasked with inspecting preparations for elections to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils for the 2026–2031 term.
Chairman Man also called on delegates to follow the Party Secretariat’s Conclusion No. 226-KL/TW dated December 11, 2025, which focuses on improving working discipline and the effectiveness of the political system, and to keep discussions concise and focused on key issues.
