HCMC – The Italian-flagged Costa Deliziosa docked at SP-PSA Port in Phu My Ward, HCMC on February 22, with 1,959 international tourists and 892 crew members onboard, reported the Vietnam News Agency.
Officers from the Ba Ria–Vung Tau Port Border Gate under the HCMC Border Guard Command completed immigration procedures for the passengers shortly after arrival.
The ship had submitted electronic entry declarations in advance to Vietnamese authorities. When it reached Buoy No. 0 off the coast of Vung Tau, nine border officers boarded to conduct immigration procedures. Shore passes were issued as the vessel docked, allowing passengers to begin their scheduled tours.
A representative of the company serving the ship said most passengers are from European countries, including the United Kingdom, France and Italy.
Tourists are expected to visit major attractions in the city and nearby areas, including the Independence Palace, the Notre-Dame Cathedral and Ben Thanh Market, as well as sites in Vung Tau.
The Costa Deliziosa is on a four-month global cruise that departed from Barcelona three months ago. The vessel is 294 meters long and more than 32 meters wide.
The ship is scheduled to leave HCMC on the evening of February 22 and continue its journey to Singapore.
