HCMC – About 98% of workers in the industrial and export processing zones in HCMC have returned to work since the last day of the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday on Sunday, according to the HCMC Export Processing and Industrial Zones Authority (HEPZA).
HEPZA reported that 95–96% of companies in these zones had resumed operations by the afternoon of February 24. The remaining businesses are expected to restart production after February 25, or the ninth day of the Lunar New Year.
Among companies already in operation, 97–98% of employees had returned to their factories, Truong Van Phong, deputy head of HEPZA, was quoted by Sai Gon Giai Phong newspaper as saying.
HEPZA recorded stable production and business conditions after Tet. Many companies are also preparing to hire more workers to meet new export orders in 2026.
