HCMC – The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu will remove interprovincial Covid-19 checkpoints from December 1, nearly two months after the Government issued Resolution 128 on safely living with the pandemic.
Provincial chairman Pham Van Thieu yesterday, November 29, signed a decision suspending the checkpoints’ operations.
After the suspension, the personnel on duty at the checkpoints would be dispatched to other areas in the province to implement anti-Covid tasks. Meanwhile, facilities at the checkpoints would be kept unchanged until further notice.
People entering and exiting Bac Lieu, including local residents leaving and returning to the province, are required to make health declarations at grassroots health stations.
According to the provincial government, Covid is still spreading in Bac Lieu. As of November 29, it had recorded 12,898 cases, with over 5,000 of them still active.
