Swedish beauty company embraces human, nature-based values

With its goal to pursue sustainability, Oriflame, Swedish beauty products company, has been always putting people and nature at the heart of its business. Accordingly, despite the turbulent period since last year due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, Oriflame has still actively engaged in social activities as part of its commitment to corporate social responsibility.

Toward the community

During the Lunar New Year 2021, or Tet, Oriflame donated VND300 million to the Mountainous Underprivileged Student Fund to organize “Only Rice Is Not Enough” program for local children in Sin Chai Commune, Tua Chua District, Dien Bien Province.

In mid-2021, when the fourth wave of Covid-19 infections hit Vietnam, Oriflame donated VND100 million to the Government’s Covid-19 vaccine fund. Also, the company offered wellness products valued at over VND300 million to the healthcare workers of the Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital in HCMC.

Earlier in September 2020, when the Covid-19 pandemic was raging in some parts of the country, with the central city of Danang being the biggest coronavirus hotspot at the time, frontline medical workers had to enter a hard time, working around the clock to cope with a spike in new cases. Given the situation, the Government, businesses and people across the country joined hands to offer support to Danang. And Oriflame also gave a helping hand through a donation of VND100 million to support the medical frontliners in this central locality.

Apart from cash donations extracted made directly from its coffer to support the fight against Covid-19. Oriflame has also pledged to set aside VND10,000 on each Aqua Glow product sold to contribute to the vaccine fund. The ongoing effort was initiated by Oriflame in early June to call on its distributors and customers to jointly support the fund.

Respect the nature

Aside from its great care to the local people, Oriflame has always cherished nature as a crucial factor in its development strategy. “Respect the nature” is among the top priorities of Oriflame not only in Vietnam but around the world as well. According to Oriflame CEO and President Magnus Brannstrom, this Swedish beauty brand has focused on the development of nature-based products and said no to artificial extracts. Especially, the company prohibited the use of plastic microbeads in its products.

Besides, Oriflame leveraged the power of science to help its products achieve the highest efficiency and reduce their impact on the environment as much as possible. From 2010 to 2018, the beauty brand has resorted to 100% renewable energy across its manufacturing facilities, produced 100% products with the natural origin, and reduced carbon dioxide emissions by 36%.

Winning local consumers’ trust

In December 2020, Oriflame was voted by consumers to be among the Top 100 trusted products/services in Vietnam, surpassing over 6,700 nominated products and services.

This year, Oriflame was named in the Top 100 products and services for families and children. Also, it was honored to receive the Golden Dragon Award, which is an annual event to honor foreign-invested enterprises that made outstanding contributions to the Vietnamese economy. Such achievements showed that Oriflame remains a favorite beauty brand among local people.

Oriflame is a Swedish beauty and wellness brand with nearly 55 years of development. The beauty brand has made its presence in 60 countries around the world. It entered Vietnam in 2003, introducing new beauty philosophy and quality products to local consumers.
