French Consul General highlights The Saigon Times as a long-standing source for Vietnam insights

The Saigon Times
“The Saigon Times has been a trusted source of information for the French Consulate for many years. Its English edition enables expats like me to stay well informed about business, economic and social developments in Vietnam. It has also been one of the reliable sources we use for our daily news round-ups and updates, helping us keep track of what is happening both locally and nationally.

The newspaper has also been a familiar presence at many of the French Consulate’s events and activities over the years. We have appreciated its willingness to cover stories that matter to our community and its remarkable ability to adapt to changing media habits, whether through print, online articles, video content or social media updates.

One of my fondest memories was being featured on the front page of the first issue published after the 2026 Tet holiday. It was the first time I had appeared there, so it came as a genuine surprise. It remains a special memory, and one that our team still talks about today.

It is sad to see The Saigon Times come to the end of such a long journey. Over the years, it has been a trusted source of news and insight for many readers, including ourselves. We would like to thank the editors, journalists and everyone behind the publication for their hard work and dedication, and we wish them all the very best for the future.” – Etienne Ranaivoson, Consul General Of France In HCMC
