HCMC – A 93-year-old Covid-19 patient in Danang has been confirmed dead by the Health Ministry, bringing Vietnam’s death toll caused by the novel coronavirus to 26 as of today, August 22.
The male resident of Danang’s Thanh Khe District died of multiorgan failure, septic shock, complications of lower limb necrosis, and pneumonia caused by Covid-19.
He was pronounced dead at 5:20 p.m. in the day at Danang-based Hoa Vang Field Hospital.
The man had been suffering from heart failure, hypertension, chronic kidney failure, and dementia.
To date, the country has reported 1,014 Covid-19 infections, including 672 locally-transmitted cases. The number of coronavirus patients linked to the Danang Covid-19 epicenter has amounted to 527 since July 25.
