HCMC – Vietnam’s Covid-19 tally has jumped by five to 1014 cases Saturday evening, August 22, with all of the fresh cases being Danang residents, including three traders from two markets in this central city, said the Health Ministry.

Of the latest coronavirus patients, a 52-year-old man residing in Lien Chieu District had close contact with one previous confirmed case of Covid-19.

Three female patients, aged from 38 to 69, are local traders at Sieu Thi and Tan Lap markets in Thanh Khe District. Last night, the municipal health authority issued a notice urging individuals who were in close contact or traded goods with the three traders to contact medical centers to make health declarations and to receive instructions over Covid-19 preventive measures.

The remaining patient is a 60-year-old man who works as a member of the management board of Lau Den market in Thanh Khe District.

All of them are being quarantined and treated at Hoa Vang Field Hospital. They have brought the number of community-transmitted cases linked to the Danang coronavirus hotspot to 527 since July 25.
