Must read

HCMC – Local automaker VinFast, a subsidiary of Vietnam’s biggest private conglomerate VinGroup, took its electric bus on a test drive yesterday, October 20.

The VinFast electric bus, painted in green and black, meets all the requirements of a public transport vehicle in Vietnam.

As this electric bus is noiseless and emission-free, passengers will not feel carsick and road users will not feel uncomfortable from the smell of fuel and noise.

The first VinFast-branded electric buses will be operated by the VinBus Transport Service Company under VinGroup. The company will launch a mobile app called VinBus, which will be connected with the Group’s VinID app to offer bus route information to passengers.

A VinFast representative said it takes two hours to fully charge the electric bus at a 150-kW charging point and the electric vehicle can travel 220-260 kilometers on a single charge.

VinBus will initially run its buses in Hanoi, HCMC and Phu Quoc Island off the southern Kien Giang Province, with 150-200 buses put into service. The electric bus service will be available from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. everyday.

The buses will pass through the inner-city areas, connecting densely-populated sites such as bus stations, schools, urban areas, hospitals and shopping malls.

Moreover, the VinFast electric bus is equipped with modern facilities to ensure safety and offer convenience to passengers, including a system to monitor the behaviors of drivers and warn of unsafe driving behaviors, an electronic board displaying bus stop information, free Wi-Fi, security and reverse cameras.
