HCMC – The Ministry of Health has proposed that international arrivals no longer have to show proof of Covid vaccination or recovery from Covid.
However, air travelers, except for children under 2, must show a negative result of either PCR Covid-19 test taken within 72 hours or a rapid antigen test taken within 24 hours before departure, according to a draft on anti-Covid measures for travelers entering Vietnam.
Besides, they will no longer have to take on-arrival Covid-19 tests as previously required, the local media reported.
As for people traveling to Vietnam by sea, road and rail, they are required to show a negative test result. If they fail to show it, they must take a Covid test within 24 hours upon their entry.
All international travelers entering Vietnam must install and activate the PC-Covid mobile app to make health declarations, and comply with Covid safety protocols on their way from a border gate or airport to their residence or places of accommodation.
The proposals were made as Vietnam is adapting to Covid-19 safely and flexibly, according to the ministry.
Vietnam has achieved a high Covid vaccination rate among adults and teenagers, while executing a plan to give the vaccine to children between 5 and 11.
