HCMC – On World Autism Awareness Day on April 2, the Saigon Children’s Charity (saigonchildren) introduced a walking challenge, called “The Steps Challenge 2022”, to raise funds and awareness toward autism spectrum disorder.
This is an annual event held by saigonchildren to promote autism knowledge and concurrently raise funds for activities to support autistic children.
For its fourth edition, The Steps Challenge has called on the community to partake in a 10-day walking challenge with the goal of at least 42,000 steps, representing World Autism Awareness Day. With a fee of VND250,000, each registration directly funds saigonchildren’s projects supporting children with autism, such as a workshop for parents, training for practitioners, and free early intervention therapy for children in disadvantaged circumstances.
First launched in 2019, The Steps Challenge has gained widespread recognition in the community by encouraging people to be active for their own health and for the benefit of the society. Over the past three years, The Steps Challenge has accumulated over 450 million steps from 3,000 participants and raised nearly VND1.5 billion.
The Steps Challenge is an opportunity for people of all ages and physical abilities to participate in a meaningful community activity. The event is not only family-friendly with a manageable goal, but also a great opportunity for corporates to engage in CSR activities and employee engagement.
Registration for The Steps Challenge is open until May 4, 2022, at https://thestepschallenge.com.
As for Saigon Children’s Charity, it is a UK-registered organization formed in 1992, operating in Vietnam to help disadvantaged children remove barriers to education, whether geographical, financial, intellect, or disability.
