HCMC – State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc attended a ceremony on April 6 to resume 10 domestic and international air routes to Can Tho City during his visit to the Mekong Delta region.
To meet the rising travel demand during the upcoming summer, Vietjet Air reopened air routes connecting Can Tho with Nha Trang, Dalat, Vinh, Thanh Hoa, Haiphong, Danang, Hanoi, Taipei in Taiwan, Seoul in South Korea and Bangkok in Thailand.
Can Tho City, which acts as the region’s main gateway, witnessed the resumption of a series of air services after the Covid pandemic. Vietjet is a pioneer in launching numerous flights from/to Can Tho City, the local media reported.
During the peak period, the carrier operated five daily flights to Can Tho City from other international and local airports, contributing to the growth of the city and the region.
On the same day, under the witness of the State President, HDBank handed over funds worth VND5.2 billion to Tien Giang Province and Can Tho City for building digital libraries and presenting scholarships to students in the two localities.
In 2021, when the fourth wave of the coronavirus emerged in many provinces in the southern region, Sovico Group, HDBank and other firms promptly donated medical equipment worth over VND35 billion to multiple Mekong Delta provinces.
