A Motivation to Thrive in the Dynamic and Evolving Events Landscape

Must read

Becoming a founding member of the Asia Venue Alliance is a great opportunity to position Danang City’s MICE destination on the global travel map.

Leading convention centers in the Asian region have joined forces to establish the Asia Venue Alliance (AVA), a revolutionary collaboration aimed at enhancing event hosting standards and elevating seamless Business Events (BE) experiences.

The founding members are the Ariyana Convention Centre Danang from Vietnam, Bali Nusa Dua Convention Centre from Indonesia, International Convention Centre Tainan from Taiwan (China), Borneo Convention Centre Kuching from Sarawak (Malaysia), and Setia SPICE Convention Centre from Malaysia.

They officially signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) during BE Penang on December 7, 2023, setting up a significant milestone to conquer the world’s peak of convention.

Mr. Francis Teo, Chairman of Asia Venue Alliance, said, “I am proud to be one of the first co-founders of this alliance and hope that with this alliance, events from all over the world will flock to Asia. Our collective efforts have borne fruit, and Asia is now well-positioned to be a global hub for world-class business events.” This historic occasion signifies the beginning of a new era in the business event industry across Asia, supported by the collective expertise and unwavering commitment to excellence of the founding members.

AVA is a collaborative force driving growth in the vibrant Asian business event industry. By teaming up and sharing strengths, AVA aims to establish a strong regional brand that shines globally in the competitive business event sector. The alliance fosters collaboration through the exchange of events, cross-promotion, and sharing valuable industry insights. Committed to excellence, the alliance ensures its members thrive in the dynamic and evolving events landscape.

In line with this collaboration, Mr. Gentzsch Andre Pierre, General Manager of Furama – Ariyana Danang International Tourism Complex, said, “With AVA, we aspire to have a customer-friendly platform for providing world-class venues and technology in beautiful, exclusive but often overlooked locations.”

Meanwhile, the Danang Hotel Association Chairman, Mr. Nguyen Duc Quynh, stated that promoting a destination through event tourism stands as the consistently stable approach for fostering sustainable development. Specifically, he highlighted the significance of the Furama – Ariyana Danang International Tourism complex as the pivotal hub for drawing MICE visitors and propelling MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Convention, Exhibition) in Danang.

“Central Vietnam is asserting its position as an emerging hub for MICE tourism, with an increasing number of international and domestic flights to Danang. The city is evolving into a prime destination for conferences, seminars, events, and incentive activities.” This insight comes from an analysis by Micenet, which is Australia’s leading and most authoritative business events platform targeting meeting, incentive, convention and exhibition buyers in Australia and New Zealand.

Actually, located in Central Vietnam, Danang is a tropical paradise with a 60-kilometer coastline of white sand and golden sunshine. The city’s My Khe Beach was ranked among the six most attractive beaches on the planet by US magazine Forbes as well as one of the top beaches in the world by the New Zealand Herald in 2022. With its favorable geographical location and convenient transportation, especially an international airport directly connecting Danang with major cities in the region, Danang has recently become an attractive destination for MICE.

Moreover, the city is home to luxurious, world-class beach resorts, with international brands which are the perfect venues to organize conferences, seminars, and diverse, outdoor team-building activities with outstanding and high-quality services.

With such strength, Quynh hopes that the Furama – Ariyana Danang International Tourism complex in particular and Danang City in  general will strongly support the alliance that envisions an exciting future filled with opportunities for collaboration, growth, and excellence in the BE sector. This innovative partnership will undoubtedly enhance the reputation and competitiveness of the participating venues and pave the way for a significant impact on the industry, promoting high-quality event experiences across the Asian region.

The Asia Venue Alliance (AVA) is a collaborative initiative of leading convention and exhibition venues across Asia, established with the goal of enhancing the region’s global competitiveness and promoting excellence in the business event sector. Founded by the Ariyana Convention Centre Danang, Bali Nusa Dua Convention Centre, International Convention Centre Tainan, Borneo Convention Centre Kuching, and Setia SPICE Convention Centre, AVA aims to provide a unified platform for industry knowledge sharing, innovation, and business growth within the Asian region.
