HCMC – Long An Province, which borders HCMC, has received an additional VND150 billion in public investment capital for its section of the HCMC Beltway No. 3 project, according to the Long An Department of Transport.
The extra funding brings the total allocation for the Long An section in 2024 to nearly VND769 billion, with the original budget already fully disbursed. Local authorities requested the additional funding to ensure the project remains on schedule.
The adjustment follows Prime Ministerial Decision No. 1306/QD-TTg, which reallocated the 2024 central budget among various ministries, agencies, and local governments. The supplemental capital will help maintain uninterrupted progress on this national priority project.
Long An plans to complete its section by October 2025, with the entire project targeted for completion by 2026.
HCMC Beltway No. 3 spans more than 76 kilometers and passes through HCMC, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, and Long An provinces. It includes eight independently managed components. Long An oversees two components, with a total cost of VND4.2 trillion.
Key construction activities are slated for 2024. Contractors will stabilize the weak foundation and finish embankments for Package XL1, while Package XL2 will focus on bridge components. Meanwhile, Package XL3 aims to connect the beltway to the Ben Luc-Long Thanh Expressway.
