HCMC – The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has proposed the Ministry of Transport approve a plan to build four airplane maintenance facilities at the Long Thanh International Airport project in Dong Nai Province, with a total investment of over VND2.75 trillion.

These facilities will meet the European and American standards, the local media reported.

When in place, the maintenance facilities will provide services for the types of planes licensed in Vietnam such as Boeing B777/B787, Airbus A330/A350, narrow-body A320/A321 and Boeing 737.

Each of the four facilities will require some VND688 billion in investment funded by investors and will be executed within 24 months. They will operate for 25 years each.

Measuring and mapping four land lots set aside for the construction of the four maintenance facilities have yet to be executed as the land compensation process is yet completed, according to the Southern Airports Authority.

After Dong Nai Province hands over land and grants a land use rights certificate to the Southern Airports Authority, CAAV will start calling for investment in these subprojects, said a representative of CAAV.
