HCMC – A captivating photo exhibition titled “Tones of America” by 16-year-old author Nguyen Huynh Bach (Bill Nguyen) is on at the Nguyen Van Binh Book Street in District 1, HCMC.

The exhibition, comprising a selection of 30 stunning photos printed on canvas, depicts the very first impressions of American life that Bill Nguyen had during his first journey to the U.S.

Instead of being attracted to the picturesque natural landscapes, Bill Nguyen was impressed by the vibrant and diverse urban lifestyle. The young, talented author had a nuanced understanding of how to organize photography components like color, space, lines, and light to enhance the viewer’s sense of a street-life aesthetic.

Opened for public viewing since August 19, this week-long exhibition has garnered significant attention from photography enthusiasts.

Bill Nguyen was born in 2007. He is currently in his eleventh grade at Lawrence S. Ting School in District 7, HCMC. Bill previously collaborated with his friends to create a photo book titled “Saigon vong quanh Cho Lon.”

The “Tones of America” photo exhibition is the first of many initiatives that Bill Nguyen intends to launch. He has plans to open free workshops for children at local schools and clubs to boost confidence in young people and encourage them to pursue their passions and search for opportunities to demonstrate their abilities.
