CAN THO – The prices of animal feed will rise by VND300-400 per kilogram on July 1, marking the sixth straight upward adjustment this year.
Koji Inoue, general director at Kyodo Sojitz Feed Company, has informed the firm’s outlets of the selling price adjustment.
The firm will revise the price of animal feed for piglets up VND400 per kilogram, or VND10,000 per bag of 25 kilograms.
Besides, the prices of animal feed for pigs, cows, chickens and ducks will rise by VND7,500 per 25-kilogram bag.
CJ Vina Agri Company has also announced that it will start adjusting up the prices of animal feed by VND300-400 per kilogram on July 1.
The hike in animal feed prices resulted from frustration over high prices of input materials for feed production, according to the two firms.
Similarly, several local animal feed producers have jacked up the feed prices by up to VND400 per kilogram.
The owner of an animal feed store in Tra Vinh Province told The Saigon Times that would be the sixth hike in animal feed prices in 2022 and the 17th time since 2020.
Starting from July 1, animal feed for piglets at the store will be priced at VND510,000-530,000 per bag, while the prices of feed for hogs will be VND375,000-415,000 per bag, according to the owner.
Rising prices of animal feed have piled pressure on farmers as the prices of live pigs remain unchanged.
