HCMC – Market surveillance authorities in Bac Ninh Province have seized over 5,000 auto parts suspected of being smuggled and fined a local business owner VND52.5 million, according to local media reports.
Market Surveillance Team No. 1, working with Bac Ninh City Police, conducted a snap inspection at a business in Vo Cuong Ward following a tip-off. During the inspection, they discovered 5,324 auto parts valued at VND814.5 million.
The business owner was unable to provide documentation to verify the legality of the goods. As a result, the parts were confiscated, and the owner was fined for operating without the necessary business registration and for selling smuggled goods.
The case is currently under further investigation, and the confiscated goods will be dealt with according to legal procedures.
