HCMC – Tan Bo Quan (Andy), a Singaporean national, has been elected chairman of the board of directors at Bamboo Capital (HOSE: BCG) for the 2020-2025 term.

He succeeds Kou Kok Yiow, who died on March 8, 2025. Andy has been with Bamboo Capital for nearly a decade and has served as a board member since May 2021.

He joined the company in 2016 as project director and later took on key roles, including on the supervisory board at Bamboo Capital and BCG Energy, independent board member at Tracodi, and at BCG Land.

Since July 2023, he has served as chairman of the board of BCG Land, the real estate division of Bamboo Capital. He is also CEO of BCG Eco, a company specializing in afforestation and carbon credits, founded in 2024 by Bamboo Capital Group.

Closing the trading session today, March 20, BCG fell by 2.73% day-on-day to VND3,920, with nearly 16.7 million shares changing hands.

On the southern bourse, the VN-Index inched down by 0.7 point, or 0.05%, against yesterday’s session, closing at 1,323.93 points, with 192 winners and 285 losers.

More than 918.9 million shares worth VND19.7 trillion were transacted, down by 3% in volume and 16% in value compared to the previous session. Block deal transactions contributed over VND1.8 trillion to the overall value.

The VN30 basket saw 12 stocks advance and 15 decline.

Some bank stocks saw a slight uptick, which was enough to bolster market sentiment. CTG, ACB, VCB, TCB, and SHB rose between 0.2% and 0.9%, while STB and MBB edged up 1.3% and 1.7%, respectively.

Among them, SHB remained the most notable as it maintained a high trading volume of nearly 80 million shares.

On the other hand, TPB was the main drag as it plunged 5.3% to VND15,150 with a trading volume of nearly 81 million shares, marking a record-high liquidity session since its listing.

On the northern bourse, the HNX-Index added 0.49 point, or 0.2% day-on-day, at 245.77 points. The total trading volume reached nearly 66 million shares, valued at VND1.1 trillion.
