HCMC – Contractors are in the final stages of constructing the Cam Lam-Vinh Hao Expressway, with its inauguration planned for April 30 this year, one month ahead of schedule.
Cam Lam-Vinh Hao Expressway, developed by a consortium consisting of Deoca Group and 194 Construction Investment Corporation at a total cost of VND8,925 billion, is a key component of the first phase of the North-South Expressway project.
Having a total length of 78.5 km, Cam Lam-Vinh Hao Expressway passes through Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan provinces.
According to contractor reports, the expressway and other infrastructure works like bridge, tunnel, and lighting and traffic safety systems are 96% to 98% complete.
The project needs 24 months to complete but the tunnel under Vung Mountain, linking Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan provinces, has an extended completion duration of 30 months.
When Cam Lam-Vinh Hao Expressway is operational, the expressway network between HCMC and Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province will be complete, making travel between the two cities faster and more convenient.
The expressway network between HCMC and Nha Trang City has five sections, namely HCMC-Long Thanh-Dau Giay (54.7 km), Phan Thiet-Dau Giay (99 km), Vinh Hao-Phan Thiet (100.8 km)), Cam Lam-Vinh Hao (78.5 km), and Nha Trang-Cam Lam (49 km).
Cam Lam-Vinh Hao is the final section of the HCMC-Nha Trang expressway network that has yet to be opened to traffic.
