HCMC – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has extended a warm welcome to Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet who is in Vietnam for a two-day official visit.
The Cambodian government leader is visiting Vietnam from December 11 to 12 at the invitation of PM Chinh, marking his first Vietnam visit since he took up the post of PM in August. It is also his first official trip to a Southeast Asian nation.
The welcome ceremony for PM Hun Manet took place this morning at the Presidential Palace. Following the ceremony, the two PMs held talks on mutual cooperation and witnessed the signing of several cooperation agreements.
During his visit, PM Hun Manet will meet with other high-ranking Vietnamese officials and join other activities.
Since Cambodia established diplomatic ties with Vietnam in 1967, the two nations have made remarkable strides in investment and trade.
In 2022, bilateral trade amounted to US$10.57 billion, up by 11% over the previous year.
In the year to September, two-way trade reached US$6.5 billion. Vietnam is currently Cambodia’s third-largest trade partner and stands out as Cambodia’s largest trade partner within the Southeast Asian region.
