HCMC – Can Tho will enhance the application of artificial intelligence and virtual reality to deliver a better experience for tourists in the coming time, following the city successfully applying digital technology to the tourist information portal and the Can Tho e-tourism platform.
During the past time, the city’s digital technology application has enabled visitors and enterprises to easily access necessary information such as e-tourist maps, online guidance and payment.
Can Tho’s tourism sector has also applied tourism management software such as 3D Virtual Reality, QR scanning apps for tourist attractions and intelligent tourist guidance systems at several historical and cultural relics.
Speaking at a seminar on digital transformation in the tourism sector organized in the city on December 6, a representative of Can Tho’s Department of Cultural, Sports and Tourism said the city’s tourism sector needs to digitalize data such as tourist destinations, tourist products and service suppliers in the value chain. The digital transformation aims to satisfy demands, offer a better experience for tourists and support tourism companies in business cooperation.
Can Tho is coordinating with telecom cooperations such as VNPT and Viettel to implement digital transformation, build a smart tourism ecosystem and produce software for local tourism activities.
According to the statistics of VNPT Can Tho, the pilot program of the smart tourism model has attracted the participation of 292 tourism companies and 65 travel agents.
