The 12-3-30 workout on a treadmill can help improve cardiovascular health and endurance, as well as lose weight. The 12-3-30 workout was coined by YouTuber Lauren Giraldo and has become trendy on social media since 2020. This simple workout requires practitioners to set the treadmill to an incline of 12% and walk at three miles per hour (about 4,8km/h) for 30 minutes. Giraldo said the 12-3-30 workout helped her lose up to 30 pounds (over 13kg), thus overcoming the fear of training at a gym. This has attracted millions of viewers on social media like Instagram and TikTok. Health benefits of 12-3-30 workout The exercise brings about a lot of benefits to health. Walking on a 12% incline on a treadmill helps improve  health, burn calories effectively, build muscle mass and reduce extra fat. Walking on an incline platform can also improve the strength of leg muscles and gluteal muscles. According to Julie Floyd Jones, a certified personal trainer and yoga instructor, climbing a 12% incline will increase heart rates and breath rates, which helps burn more calories in a shorter time compared to other exercises.
