Nutrition recommendations

Vietnam’s Ministry of Health promulgated Decision No. 3594/QD-BYT, introducing Ten Rational Nutrition Recommendations toward 2030. According to Suc khoe & Doi song news site, the Ministry of Health recommends eating sufficient, balanced and diverse foods; drinking enough water every day; reading carefully the information on food labels before buying and using; restricting the use of fried foods, fast food, and foods full of fats, salt, sugar; restricting the use of soft drinks and alcoholic beverages. Decision No. 3594, signed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Lien Huong, deputy minister of health, is the basis for education and communication activities of relevant bodies in the health sector to raise the knowledge and practice of rational nutrition among the general public. The decision took effect as from the signing date to replace Decision No. 189/QD-BYT dated January 17, 2013, by the Ministry of Health on Ten Rational Nutrition Recommendations toward 2020. The National Institute of Nutrition has been tasked with mapping out and issuing technical guidance on the implementation of Ten Rational Nutrition Recommendations toward 2030.
