The rising loss of uniqueness

In an age where the world celebrates the distinctiveness of different regions, it is disheartening to witness numerous areas and natural wonders in Vietnam being replaced by concrete structures from distant places. Destinations like Dalat, Phu Quoc, Halong Bay, and Sapa, which were once graced with breathtaking natural beauty, have surrendered their uniqueness to alien concrete structures. Fading charms In the verses of the renowned poet Han Mac Tu, Dalat unfolded as a picturesque haven adorned with tranquil streams, lush pine forests, and a refreshing climate. However, the idyllic Dalat, as described nearly a century ago, seems to have vanished in recent times. Dalat, once a dreamlike highland city nestled amidst verdant pine groves, now grapples with ill-suited urban planning and excessive concrete development. Over 90 years ago, French experts estimated that Dalat City, with a total area of about 393 square kilometers, could support a population of around 120,000 people with its groundwater and surface water resources.
