Green growth requires quick actions

HCMC has determined to adopt sustainable development and greenization to create new momentum and higher competitiveness. The business community has shown keen interest in this trend. What is required of the city government is to quickly formulate new policies and standards for green growth alongside green finance development. Addressing the HCMC Economic Forum 2023 (HEF 2023) themed Green Growth Towards Net Zero on September 15, Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai noted that given its urbanization and sizeable population as well as its dynamics, HCMC is the right locality for launching pilot policies on green growth and the circular economy, now that the National Assembly has issued a resolution on special sandboxes for the city. Recommended pathways During discussion sessions of the HEF 2023 as well as in talks with the city leaders on the sidelines of the forum, many experts proposed measures be taken early and that models elsewere in the world be studied.
