HCMC – Only VND484 billion was disbursed to cover site clearance for public investment projects in HCMC in the first fourth months of this year, representing 2.4% of the full-year target.
The city was allocated VND20,190 billion to pay for those affected by site clearance for 134 public projects in the city this year, but the disbursement was much lower than expected.
The Department of Natural Resources and Environment said in a report that it had held 10 working meetings to speed up the disbursement of public investment capital but the coordination of localities in addressing outstanding issues had been insufficient.
The department, therefore, proposed working directly with leaders of districts and Thu Duc City to remove hindrances, ensuring the public investment disbursement rate would reach over 95% by the end of this year.
