HCMC – The Politburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam has approved a major restructuring of 13 key central organizations, aiming to enhance efficiency and streamline operations.
The decision was announced at a meeting chaired by Party General Secretary To Lam in Hanoi today, December 30, with President Luong Cuong and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man in attendance.
The restructuring, approved on December 27, affects 13 organizations under the Party Central Committee, including the Organization Commission, the Inspection Commission, the Internal Affairs Commission, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, and key media outlets like Nhan Dan newspaper and the Communist Review.
Central agencies of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, and other key socio-political organizations are also included in the overhaul.
General Secretary Lam said this is the initial phase of a broader reform process, acknowledging the significant challenges ahead, particularly in adjusting operational mechanisms and streamlining the workforce.
The restructuring aims to reduce redundancy, improve decision-making, and enhance the overall effectiveness of these organizations. Each organization will have clearly defined roles and responsibilities to minimize overlaps and ensure comprehensive coverage.
The reform will involve a thorough review of personnel, with a focus on retaining skilled individuals and attracting new talent. The reshuffled organizations are expected to operate more efficiently, with a stronger emphasis on results and improved public service delivery.
The Party chief stressed the importance of maintaining operational continuity during the implementation phase and ensuring adequate support for all officials and staff throughout the transition.
He emphasized the need for a comprehensive approach to personnel management and the development or revision of operational regulations for each organization and its subordinate units to ensure consistency, efficiency, and prevent overlaps in responsibilities.
