HCMC – The Drug Administration of Vietnam under the Ministry of Health has allowed the Saigon Pharmaceutical Company Limited (SAPHARCO) in HCMC to import five million doses of China’s Vero-Cell Covid-19 vaccine to meet the demand in Vietnam.

According to the administration, the vaccine has been approved for emergency use in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic in Vietnam, meeting requirements under the Ministry of Health’s decision approving the vaccine for emergency use, Tuoi Tre Online newspaper reported.

SAPHARCO must take responsibility for the origin and quality of the imported vaccine and ensure the preservation of the vaccine in line with the requirements and use of the vaccine to serve the demand under the HCMC government’s directions.

The Drug Administration of Vietnam asked the company to comply with the prevailing regulations on drug import and distribution and other relevant regulations.

On June 20, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Health worked with the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam to take delivery of 500,000 doses of the Vero-Cell Covid-19 vaccine.
