DANANG – The Danang Department of Tourism, together with the Danang Tourism Association and businesses on April 7 organized the tourism stimulus program in 2022 themed “Enjoy Danang”.

The program drew the participation of more than 200 businesses, offering a wide range of product and service packages with promotional pricing policies.

On the occasion, representatives of tourism authorities and businesses operating in travel, accommodation, tourist sites and aviation also signed up to support an alliance of tourism stimulation.

“Danang is preparing to resume tourism. Major tourist attractions have re-opened their doors,” said Nguyen Xuan Binh, deputy director of the Danang Department of Tourism, at the event. “I suggest that the tourism association and businesses work closely together to carry out the stimulus program effectively with new attractive products and services.”

According to Binh, in the coming time, the Department of Tourism will continue to coordinate with the tourism association to supervise activities relating to serving guests as well as welcome comments from tourists in order to improve the program’s quality.

In addition, the tourism industry also attaches importance to conditions to welcome and serve guests while resuming domestic and international tourism activities. The main things to do are the prevention of the Covid-19 outbreak, ensure qualified human resources, facilities, security, communication, new products and services, and technology application.

Regarding stimulus packages, Nguyen Thi Hoai An, director of the Danang Center for Tourism Promotion, said the program will be deployed in two phases, of which the first phase will last from April 7 to May 31, 2022, while the second phase will be effective from July 1 to August 15, 2022, focusing on eight main packages.

In addition to the stimulus packages, An also informed that Danang is offering free entrance tickets to the Marble Mount, the Cham Sculpture Museum, the Danang Museum, and the Fine Arts Museum.

“Recently, a new sea route between the central city of Danang and the Ly Son Island, off the coast of Quang Ngai Province, has just kicked off, offering a 20% discount on the ticket,” said An, adding that following the initial success in 2021, this year, the MICE tourism stimulus policy in Danang will also continue. A MICE group of 700 people will be welcomed by the city leaders at the airport, apart from other benefits.

According to statistics of the Danang tourism industry, in February and March 2022, the city supported 12 groups with more than 4,200 MICE visitors. It expects to welcome a couple of MICE groups in the months to come.

Responding to the city’s MICE policy, some 25 businesses operating in accommodation, transportation, tourist attractions and services have registered to support MICE groups.
