Situated in Dien An Ward, Dien Ban Town, Quang Nam Province, Bang An is regarded as the only relatively intact octagonal Cham tower in Vietnam today.
This thousand-year-old Cham tower is located right next to provincial road DT609, just over one kilometer from National Highway 1A, about 14 kilometers from Hoi An City, and approximately 27 kilometers from Danang City.

According to researchers, the Bang An Cham Tower was built in the late 9th to early 10th century for worship and ceremonial purposes. It features a uniquely distinct architectural style, unlike any other Cham towers.
Overall, the Bang An Cham Tower resembles a Linga (a phallic symbol), standing majestically in a spacious open area. The tower is octagonally shaped, with each side measuring four meters long and reaching a height of 21.5 meters. Inside, it once housed a stone Linga (only the altar base remains today). In front of the tower, two stone animal figures still stand: a lion and an elephant.
Having stood for over a thousand years, Bang An Cham Tower was designated as a national heritage site in 1989.
