HCMC – The number of passengers on domestic flights during the August 31-September 3 National Day holiday fell by 15.6% against the same period last year to over 356,500, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV).
Data indicate that more than 763,000 passengers passed through airports in Vietnam over the National Day holiday, representing 98% of last year’s figure.
International air passengers totaled over 406,500, up by 14.5%, while there were over 356,500 domestic air passengers, down by 15.6%.
During this period, Tan Son Nhat International Airport in HCMC handled 407,000 passengers, down by 7.4%, while Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi served 314,000 passengers, a slight drop of 1.1%.
Danang International Airport in Danang received over 111,000 passengers, marking a 13% decline over the year-ago period.
Throughout the holiday, Vietnamese airlines operated more than 2,700 flights, averaging ove 675 flights per day.
