CAN THO – The Dong Thap government and Vietnam Airlines have signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement in the 2022-2026 period to develop new tourism products and attract visitors.

Under the deal, the two sides will organize multiple trips for representatives of travel firms and local and international reporters to survey and explore tourist sites and participate in events.

The province and the national flag carrier will hold cultural, tourism and sports exchange events and festivals to attract tourists and boost international arrivals from China, Japan, South Korea and the United States.

The provincial government and Vietnam Airlines will jointly launch numerous investment, tourism and aviation promotion programs and hold world-class events for education, culture, sports and tourism during the five-year period.

Speaking at the signing ceremony on May 19, Tran Tri Quang, vice chairman of Dong Thap, said the cooperation was aimed at jointly developing supportive mechanisms to prioritize the use of each other’s products and services.

“The deal will help introduce Dong Thap’s tourism products and solidify Vietnam Airlines’ position, creating a boost for the tourism sector,” says Quang.

Nguyen The Bao, deputy general director of Vietnam Airlines, said under the cooperation, the airline and the Dong Thap government will popularize tourist destinations and tourism and cultural events in the province and introduce the carrier’s services.
