HCMC – EuroCham’s Medical Devices & Diagnostics Sector Committee (MDDSC) on August 13 handed over 12,000 Covid-19 test kits to the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Infection Prevention and Control under the Ministry of Health in the fight against Covid-19 in Vietnam.

EuroCham’s MDDSC will assist the ministry in allocating the donated kits to localities, which have been hit by the second wave of Covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus.

The 12,000 test kits from European industry members are expected to support Vietnam in dealing with the second outbreak and contribute to its containment, according to MDDSC.

“EuroCham MDDSC, with 26 multinational medical devices and diagnostics companies active in Vietnam, is committed to supporting the Government and all Vietnamese citizens in this fight,” stated MDDSC Chairman Torben Minko.

“With these 12,000 test kits, we wish to increase the number of people in Vietnam being tested in a timely manner and effectively support expanding the scope of the nation’s massive testing ability,” Minko added.

Chairman of EuroCham Nicolas Audier stated that medical devices are at the forefront of the campaign against Covid-19, and the MDDSC has made such an important contribution to supporting Vietnam in its fight against the global pandemic.

“EuroCham and our medical devices and diagnostics member companies stand together with Vietnam during these uncertain times,” noted Audier.
