Perched atop a mountain in Tien Du District, Bac Ninh Province, Phat Tich Pagoda stands as a testament to Vietnam’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage. Built during the Ly Dynasty (1009–1225), this historic site features unique ancient architecture and holds significant importance as a former Buddhist and cultural center in the northern delta.

The journey to the main hall of the pagoda is marked by ancient stone steps, evoking a sense of serenity and history. Phat Tich Pagoda features seven front spaces for welcoming visitors and five worship areas dedicated to Buddhas, including Amitabha—a central figure in Pure Land Buddhism and one of the most revered Buddhas in Mahayana Buddhism.

Among the pagoda’s remarkable highlights are the towering Amitabha statue and a set of 10 sacred animal sculptures from the Ly Dynasty. These five pairs of symmetrically arranged animals—horses, rhinos, buffaloes, elephants, and lions—adorn the area in front of the Tam Bao corridor, adding to the site’s historical and cultural significance.
