Following vintage cars around town

Tens of vintage motorcycles and cars manufactured in the early 20th century participated in a street parade around HCMC. Joining the parade, “Heritage connection journey”, people had a chance to discover the iconic city of Saigon.

The vintage car parade was co-organized by the Fiditour and Vietluxtour travel companies.

The parade bustled through streets bearing the landmarks of old Saigon and, today, HCMC. The cars stopped at attractions such as the Independence Palace, the HCMC Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral, HCMC Opera House, Garage Citroen Saigon Ranger and Lay Thien Hau Pagoda, among others.

Vintage cars manufactured in the early 20th century, such as Volkswagen, Mercedes, Ford Mustang…
… as well as vintage motorcycles such as Honda and Vespa were seen on the streets.
The parade of vintage cars and motorcycles attracted many people.
Many foreign tourists were also interested in the parade.
A participant showed the papers of his Becane AB1 motorcycle produced in 1938.
Along with actress Kim Tuyen, he took pictures of two vintage motorcycles that are over 150 years old.
Marie, 56, from France, said she loved watching the vintage convoy as it was fascinating to see so many vintage cars and motorcycles simultaneously.
A lady, Nguyen Thi Nhu Phuong, joined the parade, hoping the tour would be developed to promote the beautiful sights of not only today’s HCMC but also that of old Saigon.
