HCMC – Vietnam’s Covid-19 infections have risen to 993 to date, with four new cases by community transmission reported in Danang, Quang Nam, and Hai Duong this evening, August 19, confirmed the Health Ministry.
The central city of Danang reported two Covid-19 patients. They are female medical staff at Family General Hospital and Danang Hospital, aged 25 and 37.
Quang Nam Province confirmed one fresh case who is a 34-year-old resident of Hoi An City. His wife, who had been receiving treatment at the Neurosurgery Department of Danang Hospital, was previously confirmed as positive for the novel coronavirus.
The remaining case in the northern province of Hai Duong, aged 40, came into close contact with two previous confirmed Covid-19 patients that are linked to an outbreak on Ngo Quyen Street in the province’s Hai Duong City.
To date, 533 of 993 Covid-19 cases in the country have made full recovery, 434 others are under treatment, and 25 have died.
