HCMC – Macfrut Digital 2020, a trade show for experts and businesses in the fruit and vegetable sector around the world, is being held online from September 8 to 10 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, attracting over 600 exhibitors from 30 countries with more than 400 safe and high quality product lines.

The show is expected to help Vietnamese businesses meet hundreds of the world’s leading suppliers of fresh, safe and high quality fruits from Italy and Europe online.

Vietnamese enterprises, importers and distributors can learn about the demands of the potential agricultural market of the European Union (EU) and look for business cooperation in the context of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement coming into effect as of August 1 with various preferential tariffs.

Macfrut Digital 2020, a trade show representing the supply chains of the agricultural cultivation and production sector, is an online meeting venue for the vegetable and fruit sector in production, trading, machinery and planting, packaging, agricultural machines, greenhouses and irrigation systems, nursery and seeds, fertilizers and bio-stimulants, logistics and storage and bodies and services, among others.

Fruits account for 66% of the total products displayed by international exhibitors seeking importers and buyers.

According to European experts, the export of Vietnamese agro-products to the EU holds great potential. To date, the product quality of many Vietnamese companies has proved to meet the demands of the EU as well as the taste of the bloc’s consumers.

Vietnamese agro-products such as cashews, coffee, vegetables, dragon fruits, lychees, coconuts, figs, pineapples, avocados, guavas, mangoes and mangosteens are favored by the EU. Some of Vietnam’s organic products have entered this meticulous market as they have passed the exclusive criteria for high-quality agro-products such as organic certification, rainforest alliance and fairtrade certification. The import of farm produce accounts for 8.4% of the total imports of the EU.

“The world is still mired in troubles caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. Conventional exhibitions and trade shows have had to be postponed or canceled, thus limiting the exchange of customers around the globe. In this context, online exhibitions or trade shows are the best way for businesses to meet their partners internationally. Macfrut Digital 2020 will help enterprises seeking to overcome the difficulties caused by the pandemic and diversify the trade promotion activities of the fruit sector, which Macfrut has carried out effectively 37 times over the past years,” said the organizing board.

Macfrut Digital 2020 will provide experts and exhibitors with several business opportunities in the world market on the Natlive digital platform and is expected to offer visitors the diversity of quality fruits and vegetables via a personal device.

All visitors from Italy and the world over can access and participate in the three-day virtual trade fair through their PC, tablet or smartphone.

During the three-day event, the organizing board of Macfrut Digital will hold a series of conferences that will be live-streamed on the Natlive platform free of charge. The topics will include renovation in gardening, greenhouses, watering and the Acqua Campus as well as forums on bio-stimulation. This platform has also been designed for exhibitors seeking to organize their own events.
