Fuel prices hiked for fourth straight time

HCMC – The retail prices of gasoline and oil products in the local market have been adjusted up for the fourth straight time, increasing by up to VND1,460 per liter or kilogram from 4 p.m. today, October 26, according to an announcement jointly issued by the ministries of Industry-Trade and Finance.

The bio-fuel E5 RON92 price rose VND1,430 per liter to VND23,110, while RON95 petrol is now priced at VND24,330 per liter, up VND1,460.

The retail prices of kerosene and diesel oil rose VND1,010 and VND1,170 per liter to VND17,630 and VND18,710, respectively. Heavy fuel oil inched up VND120 per kilogram to around VND17,200.

During this fuel price adjustment, the ministries decided not to impose a surcharge on bio-fuel E5 RON92, RON95 petrol, diesel oil and kerosene to replenish the national fuel price stabilization fund. Meanwhile, the surcharge on each kilogram of heavy fuel oil sold to customers was VND100.

Local fuel traders were allowed to tap the fund at VND1,100 for each liter of bio-fuel sold to customers, VND400 for each liter of RON95 petrol, VND150 for each liter of diesel oil and VND100 for each liter of kerosene.
