HCMC – The German Business Association (GBA) launched a photo exhibition and hosted the dialogue “30 Years of GBA in Vietnam – From Doi Moi to a Global Gateway” on November 3 to celebrate its 30th anniversary.
Held at Deutsches Haus, the event was attended by German Consul General Andrea Sühl and Pham Dut Diem, acting director of the HCMC Department of Foreign Affairs.
The “GBA Legacy in Frames” exhibition, open to the public from November 4 to 6, highlights three decades of German–Vietnamese partnership and GBA’s growth from a small investors’ group in 1995 to a network of over 400 members today.
Speakers at the dialogue reflected on Vietnam’s journey from post-war reconstruction to one of Asia’s most dynamic economies. Ton Nu Thi Ninh, president of the HCMC Peace & Development Foundation, said Vietnam’s success lies in balancing economic openness with social cohesion, while Vo Quang Hue of FoundryAI and Christian-Ludwig Weber-Lortsch of EuroCham highlighted technology and private enterprise as key growth drivers.
Founded in 1995, GBA is one of Vietnam’s first foreign business associations and a founding member of EuroCham Vietnam, representing over 400 companies nationwide.
