HCMC – Germany will hold its iconic cultural event, the German Business Association (GBA) Oktoberfest Vietnam, in Hanoi and HCMC beginning this month, marking the comeback of the festival after a two-year suspension due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The year 2022 marks a milestone for us as we celebrate 30 years of our original GBA Oktoberfest and have been continuing the tradition founded by the German business community many years ago,” said Alexander Goetz, chairman of the GBA, during a press briefing to launch the event in HCMC on September 15.

GBA Oktoberfest Vietnam 2022 will take place at the JW Marriott Hotel in Hanoi for four days, from September 29 to October 2. In HCMC, the HCMC event, called GBA-Erdinger Oktoberfest 2022, will be held in the Nikko Saigon Hotel from October 6 to 8.

The festival will offer an opportunity to promote traditional German foods and drinks in Vietnam, and boost the cultural exchange between the two countries, added Goetz.

Attendees can taste authentic Bavarian-themed cuisine and beverages, including a set of imported beer from favorite German brands.

GBA Oktoberfest Vietnam is an annual festival that began in 1992. It has gradually become the largest German festival in Southeast Asia over the years.

GBA Oktoberfest 2022 is being co-hosted by GBA, the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Vietnam, under the patronage of the German Embassy in Hanoi and the German Consulate General in HCMC.
