HCMC – The Central Highlands province of Gia Lai has proposed developing an expressway connecting Pleiku and Quy Nhon (Binh Dinh Province), at a total cost of VND37,621 billion.
According to the proposal, the expressway should be funded by State capital.
The proposed expressway will be 122.9 kilometers long, starting from an intersection with National Highway 19B in Nhon My Commune, An Nhon Town, Binh Dinh Province, and extending to the intersection with Ho Chi Minh Road in Pleiku City, Gia Lai Province.
The expressway will have four vehicle lanes, and commence construction in 2024-2025, with basic construction to be completed by 2030.
Gia Lai proposes dividing the project into three sections: the first from the starting point to An Khe tunnel within Binh Dinh Province, the second from An Khe to Mang Yang tunnels, and the third from Km9+00 to the end point within Gia Lai Province.
In Binh Dinh, the plan includes three interconnecting junctions: one with National Highway 19B in Nhon My Commune, another with the North-South Expressway in Tay An Commune, and a third with National Highway 19 in Binh Tuong Commune.
