Giving support where it is needed most

Must read

Sharing difficulties with the community and supporting disadvantaged people, FE Credit has engaged in numerous corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities in various fields such as society, education and environment for many years in an effort to improve the living standards of poor residents nationwide. In its community programs, the consumer finance company has always managed to shift its support to areas where the residents are in dire need. As such, victims of recent natural disasters in Central Vietnam have been caught in the company’s social radar.

Accompanying flood-hit residents

Witnessing the pain and losses suffered by residents in many provinces in the central region from floods and storms these days, FE Credit has promptly launched numerous support programs to lend a helping hand to the needy people.

In October, the firm donated 1,000 gift sets and over 400 water purifiers to households hard hit by floods in Huong Hoa and Dakrong districts of the central province of Quang Tri. Besides, many flood-affected residents of the mountainous district of Minh Hoa in Quang Binh Province were also given 600 gift sets.

The firm also donated VND300 million to the family of Pham Van Huong, who lost his life during a rescue mission at the landslides at the Rao Trang 3 hydropower plant in Thua Thien-Hue Province last month. The company’s total donation for residents in Central Vietnam has amounted to over VND2 billion to help them overcome difficulties caused by recent disasters.

FE Credit is still conducting the “Heading toward Central Vietnam” program and calling on its employees to give more financial donations.

“Showing social responsibility through practical support activities is always considered one of the key missions of great importance by the board of directors of FE Credit and one of the firm’s major strategic goals,” says Nguyen Thanh Phuc, deputy general director of FE Credit.

Joining the fight against Covid-19

Joining hands with the Government to prevent the spread of Covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, FE Credit has manifested its social responsibility toward the community by gifting VND5 billion to acquire over four million face masks to frontline medical workers in March. Through this activity, the consumer finance company expected to encourage people to actively protect their health and stir up their responsibility towards the community.

In addition, to ease the burden on its customers during the coronavirus pandemic, FE Credit decided to exempt and reduce interest rates and extend debt payment deadlines for those hit hard by the disease from February to June. Over 200,000 customers benefited from its supporting program.

Besides its own community programs, FE Credit contributed VND100 million to the “Great Circle” program initiated by the Saigon Times Group, which is aimed at raising funds to support residents affected by the coronavirus pandemic and disaster-hit central Vietnam.

FE Credit has organized the “I run-We win” virtual running event, part of a series of sporting events being held for FE CREDIT Sports Day 2020 to raise funds for the Saigon Times-Great Circle program.

The company has also launched many other aspirational activities to support the community.

November 2 this year marked FE Credit’s 10-year establishment in Vietnam, but the firm suspended all of its celebratory activities and used the planned expenses to implement charitable programs, according to FE Credit.

On the occasion of the Day for Agent Orange/dioxin victims in Vietnam on August 10, FE Credit cooperated with the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association to send a donation of VND200 million to Agent Orange/dioxin victims to help them with livelihood improvement.

Organizing the annual blood donation program in October in collaboration with the HCMC Red Cross, FE Credit has given opportunities for its staff members to share social responsibility with the community, donating some 2,070 blood units over the past six years to save lives.

Apart from building charitable houses for poor people and orphans in some provinces and awarding numerous scholarships to poor students with good performance, FE Credit has also provided its support for needy laborers. Through its annual program “Love Coaches back to Home,” the firm has over the yeas delivered some 2,000 free coach tickets to low-income workers who live and work in HCMC so that they can go back to their hometowns to enjoy the Tet holiday with their families.
