Farmers are entering the peak of the 2025–2026 winter–spring rice harvest, with golden fields stretching across southern Vietnam.
In Tay Ninh Province, harvesting has intensified over the past three weeks, with machines running steadily and farmers working from dawn to dusk. The hum of combine harvesters and tractors, mingled with conversation and laughter, creates a vivid picture of rural life in motion.
This year’s crop has delivered relatively strong yields, but the sense of abundance is tempered by rising costs and volatile market prices. Many farmers describe the season as a mix of optimism and concern, pleased with productivity yet uncertain about profits.
Fuel prices have increased harvesting costs, while rice prices have fallen compared with previous seasons. Even so, work continues across the fields, where straw is now collected and sold rather than burned, providing an additional source of income.

To date, more than 89,000 hectares have been harvested, with an estimated yield of 6.57 tons per hectare and total output exceeding 585,000 tons.Another “golden season” unfolds across the fields, as farmers remain hopeful for better prices in the future
