HCMC – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has urged a study on traffic connectivity between Tan Son Nhat International Airport in HCMC and the under-construction Long Thanh International Airport in neighboring Dong Nai Province.
The request was made clear in a Government Office notice on Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s conclusion after the 10th meeting of the steering committee for key national infrastructure projects.
The PM asked the Ministry of Transport to urgently conduct a comprehensive study on traffic connectivity between Tan Son Nhat and Long Thanh airports, which could be either elevated or underground rail line.
The study must ensure that the effective and harmonious operations of the two airports when Long Thanh is put into service.
At the meeting of the steering committee, the PM that despite some achievements, a couple of tasks have lagged behind schedule, so greater efforts would be made to solve this problem.
