HCMC – The People’s Committee of Hanoi City convened a meeting on December 24 to address delays in various construction projects across the city, aiming to resolve obstacles and expedite progress.

For the Saigon-Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SHB) headquarters, the city directed the Department of Planning and Architecture to collaborate with Hoan Kiem District authorities to finalize urban design plans by December. SHB is expected to submit its investment proposal for approval promptly thereafter.

In Hai Ba Trung District, a long-stalled mixed-use development project must be resolved by January 2025. Relevant agencies have been instructed to propose actionable solutions for review by the municipal Party Affairs Committee.

In Soc Son District, an industrial infrastructure project in Mai Dinh and Tien Duoc will retain over 16,600 square meters of cemetery land within its planned area. The project developer, UDIC, was asked to attract secondary investors and adhere to necessary procedures if considering a project transfer.

For a planned urban complex on Nguyen Trai Street in Thanh Xuan District, the city has tasked the Department of Natural Resources and Environment with submitting a report to the prime minister this week to prevent further delays in land use and infrastructure development.

Additionally, Hanoi is reviewing underutilized or vacant properties owned by central and local agencies in Ha Dong District. The city is exploring transferring the management of these properties to local authorities for potential public use, such as educational facilities or other community services.
